Greetings to our SongFarmers family
SongFarmers has been doing big things lately, so we wanted to reach out with updates on all things WFPA. Our front porch family is growing, the newest SongFarmers chapters were established in Rome, GA, Butler County, FL and Anderson County, KY this month which brings us to 90 active chapters all across the world including the U.S., Australia, and Ireland!
The chapter in Hinesburg, VT had a big turn out. Our chapter in Baker County, FL wound up on the front page of their local newspaper because of all of the cool things that they have been doing. They are 1 of our 12 chapters in the sunny state of Florida. As music lovers, we all know how important this artform is to so many people. Because of this, WFPA collected instruments for those who lost theirs to the flooding in Eastern Kentucky. The 600+ collected instruments were distributed at Knott County High School this past October. This could not have been achieved without the immense help and support of all of our WFPA members, so we wanted to thank you! As a reminder, our 7th annual National Gathering of SongFarmers will be held May 12 & 13, 2023 at the historic Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in Renfro Valley, KY. This beautiful estate is part of the grounds of the Renfro Valley Barn Dance, making it the perfect setting for us to come together for a weekend of front porch music making!
